July 14th.  Just got this family after the community development officer took my team to their home for possible assistance from church ,the husband is blind from birth,the wife has some mental abnormality the elder child naked in the photo had stroke, that women is very pregnant they are in dire poverty. My heart goes to the girl as we take care for the emergencies food and clothing I ask somebody with caring heart we offer this small girl proper education thru her the family may come out of this. The church will take care of feeding,clothing and housing my cry is educating the girl child to save this family #he who helps the poor lends to the lord   Breaking news. yesterday our team took all the support needed for this poor family, 40kg of beans,sugar,salt,clothes,smearing oil,mosquito nets,soap ,bed sheets etc they came back celebrating our Jesus. Today we have received a call from the community development officer that the lady is in birth pains,we have rushed brought her to hospital and now she has delivered normally thanks to our midwives. Tomorrow we are sending baby clothes from streams of mercy .  ...

SOM STATIONERS NOW OPEN  Two  years ago we sent out a new photocopier to Pastor Jimmy. Unfortunately it got damaged during the unloading. But we praise GOD that during our 2015 mission we enabled them to obtain the necessary parts to repair it. It is now up and running and was the catalyst for a new income generation enterprise  - the  Streams of Mercy Stationers which opened on 27th May.   May God prosper this new enterprise.   ...

The main event - commissioning of the borehole    A crowd from the community together with some government officials   gathered at the site of the borehole, which was protected by a   wooden framework built around it.  Many children had made placards  thanking Fred for safe water and freedom from water borne diseases.   There were a number of speeches made by  representatives of the community and  district  and government officials.   Followed by a Gospel Message  based on the story of the Woman at the well.     Fred then cut the ribbon to launch the  borehole.   Laurie then prayed, asking God's blessing on the community and giving thanks for the gift of clean water which will bring life and health   to them.  He was then given the privilege of pumping the first water....

   Pastor Jimmy reports: We have had a lot of rains breeding many mosquitoes - hence a lot of malaria and many have been sick. A lot of children needed blood transfusions which has been very expensive for us. Thank you for the money you sent us, otherwise we would not be able to control. We lost two children after being in the hospital for three weeks from the Bulecha centre. So far 10 are on the enhanced nutrition programme. We are expecting a harvest in July - that is if the weather will be good because after a lot of rains the crops are doing well. But the hot sunshine has come up and crops are again drying up. Pray that we receive some rains this month. The Piggery We gave the guardians the pig I bought to raise and it farrowed six. So far 4 children share a piglet.   Goats I was also able to raise 20 goats and distributed them. Four children share a goat, and as they produce they will share among themselves.     ...

We had planned to  access several prisons in the north where we hadn't been before.However the President banned access to the prisons especially for foreign nationals for two weeks before the elections which took place on Feb. 18th. But we did get into three in Lira as the Pastor talked to the OC who relented and let us in. SO overall we did ministry in 8 prisons with 198 responses to the Gospel appeal Namayingo 50 Responses.    We gave out solar lights (Luci light - specially developed for places like Africa. They travel flat and blow up. Are sturdy and waterproof and give 12 hours’ light for an 8-hour charge.)   Serere 5 Responses  ( Many were Christians already)   Mukuju 27 Responses   Masafu 12 Responses   Amuria 20 men and 1 woman responded 3 new prisons in Lira - 1st men’s prisons 50 Responses  Women’s prison     22 Responses  2nd men’s prison    22  Responses   We took aid in various forms to the prisons – usually soap, razor blades, sugar.  One prison asked for plastic plates and cups We even had to provide anti bed bug spray in one prison. We supplied items for woman and in Lira noticed at least one baby with no clothes under the blanket it was wrapped in, so we sent in some baby clothes and nappies for the 8 babies we saw there.   In one prison Pastor Jimmy noticed the lack of electrical wires and asked to see the sleeping quarters -, where there was no lighting. So we presented the OC with some Luci lights for each sleeping area.  He told us that this was a blessing as it had overcome a big problem. Previously when the men came into prison they were expected to give a small amount of money towards the fuel for the hurricane lamps.  But often a man did not have the money and as a result the others would be...

 Hello Janis how is life and ministry of God?, this is Pr Robert Kayima extending my sincere greetings you and the family of God ,it is quite a long time without communicating with you ,but some times is due to lack of equipment to use such as computer because the one I had got spoiled and I am trying to get another one slowly by slowly and the internet cafes are far away in towns only. But more so I want to up date you about infant orphanage school (ALPHA ) ,the school is doing good and as per now we have reached up to primary five ( P/5) ,and the prison ministry you initiated is still going on and we normally visit them with the word of God of love and even carry out HIV / AIDS counseling and testing and support them with drugs from the nearby health facility. On top of that I want to inform you that our church building which you know is now totally down and this was caused by strong wind which forced it to fell to the ground , yet the school has been using that very building as classrooms for study so as for the coming term most of them will be sitting under trees as they study where by their situation is going to be worse so that we really need your prayers so that God can force an intervention to take place. And we have started laying a strong foundation but it is also challenging due to lack of resources for building but we are believing God to an able us to make it. And this is to request you that if there some well wishers, organizations who can stand in the gap to buy land for the orphanage school such that they can get also their own building in that they can also share equal opportunity like other children in the world. Today we received a donation of a wheelchair and walking aids, bedding, women's shoes and clothing, kitchen gadgets and tools from Michael S. in memory of his mother Christina S.  This was the first donation of aid received through this website. We are currently collecting aid to send on the next container in the autumn. In particular we need tools  of all kinds and sewing machines, wheelchairs and medical equipment and supplies, scholastic materials, children's books, videos, cd's and dvd's, toys and games especially educational ones, and  bicycles.  We can collect within about 25 miles of Sutton, Surrey. It was encouraging to see the following message on March 12th   from Klephas Ojiambo who is obviously following up the prisoners who gave their lives to Christ during the February mission. In Mukuju 25 prisoners responder to the Gospel appeal, and there were 55 in Kisoko. 'We give God the glory for expanding our ministry. Last week we had prison ministry in one of the prisons in Tororo (Mukuju prison) and we have established there a fellowship of about 25 inmates  who have believed in Jesus. They lack Bibles to learn the word of God and we are appealing to anyone who can support this ministry by donating some bibles, God will really bless you. This Sunday the 15th March 2015, Seaside Life Family Church will be visiting Kisoko prison where we went in February  and preached and over 50 inmates gave their lives to Jesus. We are going there to establish a fellowship.  Those who can donate to this ministry please you are highly welcome because the greatest need now is bibles as we need them to be rooted in the word of God. Foundation of building laid but works have stopped due to lack of funding.   A suitable replacement vehicle was obtained and the engine from the old vehicle put into it as it was a much newer engine. They  had a very good time with the prisoners of Kasenga  prison and 12 inmates came  to the Lord on Easter day. That was a  new prison  for SoM Congo and they were able to travel there in the new car with Pastor Israel's family and  2 members of the team ....

A consignment of Clinical equipment and medicines for the establishment of the Streams of Mercy Clinic  arrived.6/03/2013. The Albert Ward Centre is now built to first  floor level. However, building is now on hold due to lack of funds. The land in Uganda is near to the current office, handy for water and power supply and in a quiet secure area. Water has been piped onto the land.  Plans are being drawn up to lay foundations for a three storey building. The ground floor will be built first and the other storeys added as funds become available....

Pastor Israel continues to visit the prisons. He travelled to  Kamina  which involved a very long and difficult car journey. He was travelling home with two prisoners who had been discharged when, just 30 Km from Lubumbashi something went wrong – possible involving the tyres, and caused the car to roll over three times. The prisoners were unhurt. Pastor Israel however sustained some injuries and was hospitalized and in a coma for two days. Fortunately he came round and has now recovered although he needed some physiotherapy treatment. He reports that he is now OK and can walk without a limp.   However, when the car rolled over it hit some bystanders and two of them died in hospital.  The villagers were very angry and attacked the car, making the damage much worse and it was  not  deemed repairable. But the insurance would  only pay for the third party individuals affected and not for the vehicle.  The engine and other useful parts were removed to be installed in another suitable vehicle body. Please pray for Pastor Israel and his famly - that the Lord will continue to bless his ministry and support his family - now 7 children with the birth of Albert on  June 17th 2013 . (The baby was named after Janis's father, who went to be with the Lord in March 2012.)...

Streams of Mercy Zambia (SoMZ) will be officially registered in two weeks time.   ( Now officialyy registered - August 2013) The team there wish to run some fundraising concerts, but do not have their own musical instruments. They would like to start their  fundraising concerts by the third week of August or first week of September and the  singing group is already organised.  Therefor is anyone can help with the provision of the following - either funds to purchase in Zambia or gifts of actual instruments it would be greatly appreciated. Keyboard(Yamaha,Korg or Roland)Drum setAmpmixer 12 channelsGuitars (Lead,Bass and #Accoustic)18 inch sound speakers x2. The cost for purchase in Zambia would be in the region of £2500 to £3000. Depending on shipping costs and also taking into account the time factor it would prove best to be able to send funds for the purchase of the equipment. Please also pray that the Lord will provide for the needs of the new SoMZ as they seek to begin ministry to prisoners and other needy people in Zambia.  Rent is needed for the office - ~£600 for the first 6 months, required to be paid  in advance.  The Musical Instruments were purchased, and sent out on a container from Christian  African Relief Trust and were received by Pastor Samuel Chipoya in  March 2014....

DR CONGO In Congo the ministry to the churches was well received and there was an opportunity to preach on TV at peak time on a Saturday evening.  4 prisons  and a small village were visited. 142 prison inmates and 15 people from the  village community made professions of faith.  ( See Proclaimer section) Land has been purchased for the building of a Streams of Mercy Centre, and a well has been dug on the site to provide water for making 70,000 bricks. We  have sent funds to pay for the brick making, and to register Streams of Mercy Prison Ministries, DR Congo, as an NGO.  We now need to raise more  funds to complete  the building of the centre. Digging the well.     ZAMBIA Ministry in three prisons in Zambia resulted in 169 professions of faith, and the church ministry was also well received.  A 28 year old man who has had a below knee amputation caused by complications of leprosy was provided with  a pair of elbow crutches by  Streams of Mercy. These have  already changed his life considerably. He is now being assessed for a prosthesis  and we have been  able to help  with the costs of this also.Praise the Lord for health, safety in travelling and for His blessing onthe  ministry. Please pray for those who now have the responsibility of following up those who responded. Chris was very pleased to receive the crutches.   ...

In DR Congo the land is in an area where much development is planned. A well has been dug to supply water for making bricks, using soil from a termite hill on the land. It is planned to make 70000 bricks and foundations will be laid suitable for two storeys. There is a house almost completed very near the site and Pastor Israel and family  have paid a deposit to reserve it and will be renting it when it is completed....
